TranS1 Inc., a pioneer in less invasive approaches to lumbar spine surgery, announced today that the 10,000th U.S. patient has recently been treated with its AxiaLIF lower lumbar fusion technology.

According to company records, the pivotal case was performed on June 11 by Serge Obukhoff, MD, at Pacific Hospital in Long Beach, CA.

The UK is somewhat behind the U.S., but has seen over 160 patients treated with AxiaLIF in recent years and is seeing an increasing number of patients benefiting from the good clinical outcomes that this procedure provides.
