ESOP Uncemented Femoral Stem
Background
The ESOP titanium femoral stem boasts 18 years clinical heritage and offers the patient and clinician peace of mind for long term clinical success.
The ESOP metaphyseal component is available in 10 sizes per side and the diaphyseal component in 7 sizes, offering a comprehensive range suitable for most pathologies.
Specific Indication
ESOP is an anatomical stem and is designed to mirror the patients’ own anatomy. The complete stem is offered in two components:
- The first component is the metaphyseal part which is designed for a ‘fit and fill’ of the metaphysis giving secure primary stability. It is Hydroxyapatite coated ensuring secondary stability through bony in-growth.
- The second component is the diaphyseal component which is screwed into the metaphyseal component to complete the femoral stem.
Why have modularity in the stem?
As human anatomy varies from person to person we need to ensure that we get the best fit for every patient undergoing hip replacement surgery. Therefore the ESOP stem can be custom built for optimum results.
Another option:
As well as the standard configuration of metaphyseal and diaphyseal components, the ESOP stem is available as a mini hip.
This option uses the same metaphyseal component and has the option of a diaphyseal button.
As the metaphyseal component gives excellent primary stability through the ‘fit and fill’ technology, the surgeon has the choice of a less invasive approach through using the ESOP button.
ESOP is a range of cementless femoral stems that are anatomical and modular, available in 10 sizes of metaphysis for each side as well as a range of 7 diaphyses.
