DSS™
Background
The DSS™ is a stabilisation system with a modular design, allowing for a combination of both fusion and dynamic stabilization solutions to treat Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD). The DSS™ allows segmental stabilisation whilst allowing pedicle displacement during motion and provides restoration of the natural centre of rotation. The DSS™ is carried out via a paraspinal approach, thus minimizing iatrogenic trauma.
Specific Indication
The DSS™ system is indicated for skeletally mature patients with DDD at one to three levels from L1 to S1, including conditions such as grade 1 spondylolisthesis. DDD is defined as discogenic back pain with degeneration of the disc confirmed by patient history and radiographic studies.
